We had excellent (short notice) tour with Levon and Lilit to Khor Virap, Areni and Noravank. I'm always surprised how much guides know the details of the places where we visit. Lilit handled tour with excellent attitude and humor. Thank you for several good laughs. We were also lucky with weather and landscapes were spectacular. It is sure when I have guests visiting here over weekend we take tour to see Armenia outside Yerevan to see beauty of the nature.

Wonderful memories of this trip we took in May 2011.
A comfortable apartment just a few minutes from the centre, with the amenities described, no unpleasant surprises—a stay we would do again and recommend.
Although we arrived very late (1 a.m.), the welcome was impeccable; the car and driver were waiting for us when we got off the plane.
Organising our stay and excursions was very easy, thanks to the team’s responsiveness. We had arranged everything in advance by email.

Our guide, Varsig, was a real sweetheart, always smiling and speaking perfect French. She delighted us with the legends of her country, summed up its history for us, and introduced us to traditional music. A very special thank you to Varsig, who accompanied us on our excursions every day.
Our driver was also lovely, discreet and always courteous. He took particular care not to jostle us too much on some roads that were not always in very good condition.
The agency’s services are excellent. Don’t hesitate—you can trust them to help you organise your stay. As for us, there were five of us, and we are determined to return to discover Karabakh, with HUYR again and, if possible, with VARSIG and Monsieur LEVON.

We were in Armenia from May 16 to 26, 2011.
We used Gyur Service to book an apartment in Yerevan and a hotel on Sevan.
I recommend this company to independent travelers.
They meet you at the airport and provide a transfer.
In my opinion, the tour program is flexible and convenient. The bus fleet is new. Prices are affordable.

I would have liked more informative and interesting tour guides—after all, Armenia’s history, culture, and epic deserve it. I’d especially recommend that guides talk more during trips about Armenian cuisine (dishes, gastronomic variety, and the production and types of drinks). I liked Artsakh—it’s something extraordinary. You can’t always find it even in Yerevan. Especially the mulberry one, aged for 3 years (I think it’s the gold one). Another masterpiece is apricot vodka. We were returning from Jermuk via the village of Areni, and at the wine tasting they offered us apricot vodka. For some reason, we bought 0.5 L. My wife and I drank it all that same evening over dinner. And it’s pretty strong—somewhere around 60–65%. Later, we regretted not buying more. But you need to buy it there (at the factory), because none of the apricot vodka I bought in Armenia compares to the one from Areni.
First of all, the aroma is so wonderful that if you spill a drop of alcohol on a napkin, you’ll carry that napkin around with you for a long time, savoring its heavenly fragrance. So, for everyone who likes Armenian alcohol, in addition to all the interesting things you’ll come across there, I recommend:
- Artsakh Mulberry (gold)—it’s cognac-colored (a four-sided bottle, 0.5 and 1.0 L), 60%—a good cure for stomach ulcers, by the way. I only saw it in Sevan.
- Artsakh Dogwood (a clear, strong spirit)—available in the Zvartnots Airport duty-free.
- Apricot vodka from the village of Areni. (There is apricot Artsakh in stores, but it’s not as aromatic.)
- Pomegranate wine (you can also find vodka).
- Sudjuk with walnuts—Armenian churchkhela (it can be made from grape juice or mulberries).
Feel free to take all of this home with you.
-Dried peaches stuffed with walnuts and coated in sugar, and much more.
Next time we go to Armenia, I really want to visit the Aragats region and Karabakh, and I’ll use Gyur Service.
