Gata Festival

This tastiest festival is held every year in September. Gata is a traditional Armenian dessert with a special making process. The most popular variety is gata with khoriz, a filling that consists of flour, butter, sugar and vanilla, baked in tonir. During the festival visitors have the chance to experience the best types of gata from all the regions of Armenia while enjoying folk music & dances, participating in games & shopping in a marketplace of local arts & crafts.

Areni Wine Festival

Every year on the first Saturday of October Armenian winemakers and tens of thousands of visitors gather in Areni village in Vayots Dzor to celebrate Areni Wine Festival – a one of a kind experience: over 100 best Armenian wines from 30 producers are presented. The guests will enjoy Armenian folk music & dances, try dried fruit, lavash, etc. Participation is free, though there is an option for taste-testing at 5000 AMD.

Trndez

Trndez (also Tyarndaraj) is a holiday, symbolizing joy & happiness for newlyweds and families, Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates it 40 days after Armenian Christmas. The main rite of this holiday is jumping over bonfire (the fire stands for the light & protection against the evil). In the morning of February 14th the ceremony of blessing newly married couples takes place in all churches so as to reinforce their love & loyalty. Vardavar Water Festival

Transfiguration of the Lord (Vardavar) is celebrated 14 weeks after Easter. Water festival is celebrated throughout Armenia: large cities, districts, even small villages and towns.
