Mount Aragats, the highest peak in Armenia, rises to 4090 meters above sea level, majestically dominating the Armenian Highlands. Its irregularly shaped crater is crowned with four summits, stretching skyward like the petals of a colossal stone flower: the northern peak reaches 4090 m, the western 3995 m, the eastern 3908 m and the southern 3888 m.

What to expect

  • Hiking duration: 4.5–6 hours
  • Distance: 12 km
  • Difficulty level: moderate
  • Elevation: ↑689 m ↓689 m (3200–3889 m above sea level)
  • Season: July to early September
  • You will be accompanied by a skilled hiking instructor; the service is included for groups of up to 10 people, with an extra charge for larger groups
  • Recommended hiking checklist: hiking boots or shoes, hiking backpack, wear-resistant socks for long walks, windproof jacket, fleece jacket, trekking poles, sunglasses with at least category 3 protection, SPF 50 sunscreen, headgear, breathable light trousers, long-sleeved T-shirt, thin fleece gloves and first-aid kit. The list may be shortened or supplemented based on personal experience
  • The possibility of arranging the hike depends on weather conditions
