I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for introducing me and my family to your beautiful country! I’d especially like to thank the guides Tatevik for her wonderful singing and Lilit for her courage in dealing with problems.

The only suggestion I’d like to make is that the long tour to Tatev should really start before ten, since it’s quite a long way and the roads are difficult.

One piece of advice for anyone planning to use the accommodation rental service—book in advance! The apartment/house you like may already be booked (there are too many people looking).

I recommend it to everyone. Armenia is a very beautiful country.

Hyur were great. The Gorni trip was arranged with Hyur Travel a few weeks in advance of us travelling. Hyur offer a wide range of set trips all over Armenia, including into Ngorny Kharabakh, or you can tailor your own trip the way we did, and which they gave great advice on.

Our plan for the day was to cover Gorni Temple, a short trek into Khosrov Nature Reserve and the Gheghard Monastery. We were impressed as the mini bus arrived at the hotel bang on time, if not a few minutes early. The driver was safe, always a good point, and our guide was the excellent, knowledgeable Lilit Suchyan.

I asked the hotel staff about the car I had booked weeks before for the return journey to Tbilisi. The response was the blank, obtuse look only produced by Eastern European hotel receptionists, until Lilit stepped in and without fuss arranged a car for the next morning to Tbilisi.

Hyur organise far more than tours but for more info check their website. I would thoroughly recommend them.

I used the company’s services to arrange excursions outside Yerevan during an independent trip to Armenia in May 2012. Pros: a wide variety of routes, knowledgeable guides who made their stories interesting, and amazingly low prices for excursions (compared not only with Europe but also with neighboring Georgia). There were no hiccups; everything was well organized and followed the advertised itinerary (one of the monasteries was inaccessible because the mountain road leading to it had been closed, but it was replaced with another one). I also arranged accommodation at a hotel in Yerevan through this company—the price was initially a little higher than on the booking website, but as soon as I pointed this out, they gave me the appropriate discount.
Overall: great job. They respond to emails promptly and to the point, run the excursions efficiently and make them interesting, and represent their country with distinction.

We went on the regular tour to Tatev and were delighted despite the bad weather. The guide was knowledgeable, answered almost all our questions, showed us some “special” places, and the food and transfer were excellent. Tours are in three languages, depending on the group. The architectural ensembles are magnificent, but I recommend picking up brochures at the souvenir shops, since there may not be time to cover everything. The most memorable things from the trip: khachkars, the royal tombs, and the ancient observatory (not much to look at, by the way, but the stories and historical facts were amazing).
P.S. I never used to believe in love at first sight, but it seems I was wrong...
If memory serves, our female guide, who was 163 cm tall and had gorgeous curly hair, was called Alla (maybe that wasn’t her name, but never mind);
Anyway, this girl won my heart and soul. I’m inclined to believe that nothing in our lives happens for no reason... So I’d like to invite my personal guide from 28.04.2012 to Russia whenever it’s convenient for her. Respectfully, Sasha G.
