This 5-day Armenia itinerary brings together the essentials: Khor Virap, Areni, Noravank, Garni, Geghard, Etchmiadzin and Zvartnots.

The program is short, yet it carries real substance. It presents three defining sides of Armenia without overcrowding the days: Ararat-facing southern landscapes, the Garni-Geghard pairing of ancient stone and living tradition, and the sacred architecture of Etchmiadzin and Zvartnots.

The southern excursion begins at Khor Virap, one of the clearest viewpoints of Mount Ararat, then continues to Birds' Cave, Hin Areni Winery and Noravank, where wine heritage and medieval architecture meet among crimson cliffs. Another day focuses on Garni Temple, the Symphony of Stones and Geghard Monastery, with lavash baking adding warmth and flavor.

The journey concludes in Etchmiadzin with the Mother See, St. Hripsime, St. Gayane and the ruins of Zvartnots. With professional guides and a well-measured pace, the itinerary makes a short visit to Armenia feel rich, coherent and rewarding.

Accommodation

3* hotels: City Centre Hotel, Elysium Gallery Hotel, Mandarin Hotel, Orbeli Hotel or similar.
4* hotels: Ani Central Inn Hotel, Ani Plaza Hotel, Bass Boutique Hotel, President Hotel, Opera Suite Hotel, Median Hotel City Center Yerevan, Hayasa Hotel Yerevan, Felinger Concept Hotel or similar.

Meals

Breakfast: Included in the package and served at the hotel.
Lunch: Not included. For tours over 6 hours, we arrange a restaurant stop. Lunch costs 11 USD – 14 USD, payable directly to the restaurant.
Dinner: Not included.

Deposit

To secure the booking, you can pay just 20% of the package price.

Cancellation

In case of cancellation at least 48 hours before the start of the order, the paid amount is refunded. In case of later cancellation or no-show, 20% of the package price is not refunded.

Practical Info

Is this tour package a good fit for a first-time visitor to Armenia?

Yes. It is a strong introduction to Armenia, combining major landmarks, cultural experiences, and varied landscapes in a well-balanced itinerary.

If the weather prevents me from seeing Mount Ararat clearly on Day 2, will I have another opportunity?

Yes. If Mount Ararat is hidden by clouds on Day 2, the Day 3 itinerary includes the Arch of Charents, another well-known viewpoint of the mountain.

Do I need to walk a noticeable distance during the tour on Day 2?

Yes. To reach Khor Virap Monastery, you will walk about 180 m, including some stairs. There are also a few steps on the way to Birds' Cave. The walks are manageable for most visitors.

What does the lavash baking masterclass include on Day 3, and can I join in the preparation?

The lavash baking experience mainly involves a demonstration of how this traditional Armenian bread is prepared, followed by a tasting with cheese and herbs. If you'd like to join in on the process, please let the tour guide know early on.

During the tour on Day 4, will I be able to attend the liturgy at Etchmiadzin and also visit the "Treasures of Etchmiadzin" museum?

Yes, you can attend Divine Liturgy at the Mother Cathedral. You may also visit the "Treasures of Etchmiadzin" museum during the stop, but please note that the museum is closed during Divine Liturgy. The admission ticket is not included in the tour package price and must be purchased on site.
