This half-day tour from Yerevan offers an easy escape to Lake Sevan, where wide horizons, monastic history, a scenic boat ride and unhurried time by the shore come together in one relaxing outing. Over 5-6 hours, it blends Sevan's open water, the hilltop setting of Sevanavank and the simple pleasure of being by the lake into a compact experience shaped by scenery, fresh air and calm.

The first stop is Lake Sevan, one of the largest high-altitude lakes in Eurasia, followed by Sevanavank Monastery on the peninsula, where sweeping views open over the deep blue water. The program also includes a boat trip across the lake and free time by the shore, offering the chance to unwind, enjoy the scenery and, in warm weather, even take a swim.

From the northwestern shore of Lake Sevan, a breathtaking panorama unfolds: a peninsula rises from the shimmering surface, crowned with ancient temples. Here, in 874, at the command of Queen Mariam, daughter of King Ashot Bagratuni, the Sevanavank Monastery was built – the spiritual guardian of Armenia's blue jewel.

Reaching Sevanavank requires climbing 200 steps.

How much free time will I have near the lake itself?

You'll have a total of 2 hours of free time to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the lake, so, make the most of it! 😊

What specific things do I need to take with me for the trip?

In summer, it's advisable to bring sunscreen to avoid sunburn, as well as swimwear if you're planning to take a dip in the lake.
