From the northwestern shore of Lake Sevan, a breathtaking panorama unfolds: a peninsula rises from the shimmering surface, crowned with ancient temples. Here, in 874, at the command of Queen Mariam, daughter of King Ashot Bagratuni, the Sevanavank Monastery was built – the spiritual guardian of Armenia's blue jewel.

Sevan is one of the largest high-altitude lakes in Eurasia and rightly considered the greatest jewel of Armenia. Its waters, at times deep emerald and at times light azure, reflect the sky and clouds like a mirror, creating a sense of boundless space. The picturesque shores of the lake combine the coolness of pine forests, golden beaches and ancient monastery walls that hold centuries of history.

Practical Info

Reaching Sevanavank requires climbing 200 steps.
You'll have a total of 2 hours of free time to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the lake, so, make the most of it! 😊
In summer, it's advisable to bring sunscreen to avoid sunburn, as well as swimwear if you're planning to take a dip in the lake.
The group size varies, but typically ranges up to 48 participants.
During the tour, we advise wearing comfortable walking shoes and dressing appropriately for changing weather; bringing a jacket or coat is a good idea. Regional areas are typically cooler than Yerevan. Women are expected to dress modestly when visiting churches or monasteries, avoiding revealing clothes.
