High in the Pambak Mountains, where the clouds seem to brush against the earth, lies the Chapel of Saint Hovhannes – a shrine wrapped in mystery and legend. Tradition holds that the saint's relics rest here and ever since, the site has been a source of miracles and hope for countless pilgrims.
Situated at an altitude of 2157 m above sea level, the sanctuary is hard to reach: to get there one needs to cross 3 km on foot, that takes 1.5 hours, but every step feels like a prayer drawing one closer to the sacred place. It is said that wishes spoken with a pure heart here are destined to come true. When prayers are fulfilled, pilgrims return and place a khachkar – a carved cross-stone of gratitude.
Over time, the chapel has become surrounded by hundreds of khachkars, each bearing witness to a story of faith and deliverance. These stones, though silent, radiate spiritual power like living guardians. The atmosphere is extraordinary: the mountains themselves seem to bow in reverence, while the wind carries the whispers of prayers.
The Chapel of Saint Hovhannes is a mountain of miracles, where eternity meets human devotion and gratitude is etched forever in stone.
