This private tour lasts almost whole day, yet it will serve as an unforgettable & positive experience. The sites are at about three hours' drive from Yerevan. The first stop is at the majestic Haghpat monastery of the 10th century. The famous ashug Sayat-Nova used to live and create there at the end of the 18th century. Next up is Sanahin monastery, where you will join the 10-century skillfullness of the architects, who made a peculiar architectural decision, thus preventing the destruction of the complex from possible earthquakes. Both monastic complexes are included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. The pearl of the tour will be the last stop – the 6th century Odzun monastery, surrounded by picturesque mountain ranges.

1. Haghpat Monastery

To the northeast of Sanahin, cradled by the lofty peaks of Lori, stretches the monastery of Haghpat – a masterpiece of Armenian medieval art, where stone speaks the language of centuries. Founded in the 10th century under King Ashot III of the Bagratuni dynasty, it rose at a time when Armenia blossomed in culture and spirit. The weathered walls of Haghpat still carry the resonance of that golden age, bearing silent witness to the passage of time.

2. Sanahin Monastery

Not far from Haghpat, in the heart of the Lori region, rises Sanahin Monastery – a true marvel of Armenia's medieval architecture. Its construction began in the second half of the 10th century, during the reign of King Ashot III and from the very beginning the complex was conceived as both a spiritual and educational center.

3. Odzun Monastery

Odzun Monastery, set high on a plateau in Armenia's Lori region, rises majestically above the gorges like a stone witness to the dawn of Christianity in the land. The main church of the complex is a rare type of domed basilica, giving it exceptional architectural significance. Though written records of its foundation are scarce, scholars confidently date the structure to the 6th century – a time when Christianity was firmly taking root in Armenia.
