"Dance expresses the characteristic features of every nation, especially its morality and level of civilization", wrote Komitas, the genius of Armenian music and culture.
Armenian national dances are indeed among the oldest in the Caucasus, embodying the richness of nature, the worldview and the unique spirit of the people. Everything is reflected in the dance: joy and sorrow, strength and tenderness, history and tradition. The Armenian national costume, taraz, accompanying the performance, is itself a cultural treasure, like a second melody that highlights the grace of movement. Today more than 35 folk dances are known, including Kochari, Yarkhushta, Shalakho, Tamzara and many others, each with its own story and character. In 2017, Kochari was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, confirming once again its value and importance.
The national ensemble "Varq Hayots" strives not only to preserve the tradition but also to revive it, bringing forgotten customs and rituals back to life while adding a touch of modern spirit. Taking part in a master class becomes a celebration, where one does not simply learn steps but feels the rhythm of the Armenian soul. This joyful and colorful event gives energy and emotions that cannot be experienced otherwise.
Depending on the place of performance, there can be added an extra amount for the ensemble's transportation expenses.
The reservations should be made in advance.
