The Gegharot Waterfall, sparkling as it plunges from a height of 17 meters, is located on the slopes of the majestic Mount Aragats, about 11 kilometers northwest of the village of the same name. At an altitude of around 3000 meters above sea level, it fascinates with its power and beauty and its scenic views are often compared to those of the Trchkan Waterfall.
In spring and early summer, the rushing torrent cascades down the rocks, transforming the surrounding landscape into a living canvas full of energy and freshness. In winter, Gegharot freezes and its streams turn into icy columns and lace-like patterns that mesmerize with their fantastic shapes. It is no coincidence that it is included in the list of natural monuments of the Republic of Armenia, as this place is a true national treasure.
The road to the waterfall is an adventure in itself. A visit to Gegharot offers a rare chance to witness nature in its primal force, to breathe the crisp mountain air and to touch the beauty shaped by the elements. It is one of those corners of Armenia where time seems to stand still and one is left alone with the majesty of the mountains.
👉 The waterfall can be reached only by 4x4 vehicle.
👉 The most favorable season to visit waterfalls is from the end of March till June, as the water flow force is on its highest level during that period.
