The History Museum of Armenia, located in the very heart of Yerevan on Republic Square, is one of the country's most important guardians of national memory. Founded in 1919 under the name "Ethnographic-Anthropological Museum-Library", it has since expanded into a unique institution that presents Armenia's history and culture from the Paleolithic era to the present day.
Its exhibitions recount millennia of the Armenian people through archaeological discoveries, rare ethnographic objects, ancient manuscripts and works of art. The national collection numbers around 400000 items, including unique artifacts found nowhere else in the world. Visitors can see prehistoric tools, exquisite jewelry of Urartu, household objects, costumes, weapons and documents reflecting the stages of the country's development.
The museum is not only a place of exhibition but also a leading research center, where experts study Armenia's vast cultural heritage. Walking through its halls becomes a journey through time, where every exhibit seems to come alive and tell its own story. The History Museum of Armenia is not merely a collection of antiquities, but a mirror of the nation's centuries-old destiny and its enduring identity.
