Lake Gosh is small in size yet breathtakingly picturesque, hidden deep within the heart of Dilijan National Park. Like an emerald mirror surrounded by dense forest, it reflects the crowns of trees and the open sky upon its surface.
Measuring only about 100 meters long, 80 meters wide and up to 8 meters deep, its charm cannot be captured by numbers alone. The lake takes its name from the medieval thinker and public figure Mkhitar Gosh, founder of the nearby Goshavank Monastery. This link grants the place a spiritual aura, turning it into not just a natural landmark, but also part of Armenia's cultural heritage. Reaching it is no easy task the road is accessible only by 4x4 vehicles which makes the journey all the more adventurous. Yet the challenge of the path is rewarded with silence, solitude and the pristine beauty of nature.
